Xiao Yuan's rescue story

The rescuer had a stray cat who they regularly used to feed.

But one day they found that the stray was missing.

What happened?

Why didn’t she show up?

Upon finding they found out she had given birth, but it didn’t go well.

The baby was born without a breath.

When the mother cat couldn’t save her and gave up, this person refused to accept defeat and brought the kitten home for desperate rescue efforts and there began the journey to this kitten’s miraculous recovery.

Fighting for her first breath

The rescuer brought the kitten to their home trying a one last effort to save an innocent life.

They tried desperate revival methods – clearing amniotic fluid, performing CPR, warming her with lukewarm water. After a long struggle, they finally saved the kitten.

The kitten’s color began to return. Her mouth moved faintly, as if she was trying to save herself.

That tiny sign of life erased the rescuer’s exhaustion. She wasn’t letting go now.

More CPR, warm water and undeniable willpower

The kitten still had the placenta attached, so the rescuer’s family helped cut the umbilical cord.

She moved the kitten to the bathroom, turned on warm water, and continued CPR while gently raising her body temperature.

The kitten’s body softened, her color deepened—but she still couldn’t breathe on her own.

The dropper came out again. More fluid was cleared. The rescuer kept going, never stopping, even as her hands grew sore. Finally, after relentless effort, the kitten began to breathe.

She started gaining weight, gram by gram

On the second day, the rescuer reunited the kitten with her mother and siblings, and she began nursing.

At just 71 grams when first rescued, she slowly gained weight—86 grams, then 129 grams—under constant care. The rescuer even stepped in to help the kitten eliminate, since the mother wouldn’t.

By the twelfth day, the tiny fighter opened her eyes. By the twentieth, she had a name—Xiao Yuan—and a personality that shone brighter each day.

But all was not sunshine and rainbows

But her fight wasn’t over.

At just two weeks old, Xiao Yuan and her siblings fell ill.

She lost weight, couldn’t eat, and grew weak again.

The rescuer syringe-fed her medicine and food, clinging to hope. Within a day, her condition began to improve. Soon, her weight increased, and her spark returned.
