Locals thought this dog was pregnant – but the truth was heartbreaking

She lay helpless on the streets of Shahdara Town, locals passing by, but no one stopped to look at her.
Everyone thought, “Oh, she’s just pregnant.”
But her belly was swollen not with life, but with silent suffering.
Thankfully, when the vets from the Tears & Tails YouTube Channel saw her video, they knew instantly what the problem was and they rushed to provide aid.
What was the problem?
This wasn’t new life growing; it was a buildup of fluid, likely from organ failure.
Her body was shutting down, and every passing minute pushed her closer to death.
She could barely lift her head, her eyes dull from pain, her spirit fading.
What happened next? Did she survive?
The rescuers raced to her side picked her up and went as fast as they could to a vet.
She had surrendered to her fate and to the mercy of her rescuers. What followed was a desperate battle for her life.

The battle begins
When she was taken to the clinic the vets began working on removing fluids from her body.
You won’t believe but over 10 litres of fluids were removed from her body.
And for the first time in months, she went into a peaceful sleep knowing she won’t feel pain anymore.
The clinic floor filled with buckets of fluid—and with hope. The rescuers named her Fuffy, a nod to the softness and sweetness she carried even in her darkest moments.
Tests revealed chronic kidney disease and signs of liver damage. Her heart was enlarged, her breathing labored. Yet she kept eating, wagging her tail, and proving that her spirit was unbreakable.

Long road to recovery, but she wasn’t alone this time
Fuffy was placed under special care with special diets and supplements carefully crafted for her failing organs.
But her pain wasn’t over.
Her fluids would return occasionally, and she would again be in pain.
So the vets had to do the cleaning again and again.
When she first arrived, Fuffy trembled at the sight of humans. Fear made her defensive, even aggressive. But the steady presence of the shelter staff began to change her. One worker, once indifferent to animals, formed an unshakable bond with her. He kissed her head during procedures, played with her daily, and filled her life with the kind of love she’d never known.
Slowly, the fear melted away. The aggression disappeared. And for the first time, Fuffy began to trust.

A new chapter begins for Fuffy
Today, you won’t recognize Fuffy if you saw her.
She has finally started wagging her tail, she plays with other dogs in the shelter and her eyes are shining brighter than ever.
Her condition is genetic—there’s no permanent cure. But with careful management, love, and support, she can enjoy the life she’s always deserved.

Why her story matters
Fuffy’s journey is more than a rescue—it’s proof that love can pull a soul back from the edge. She went from a street corner of silent suffering to a place where every heartbeat is cherished.
And while her medical battles aren’t over, neither is her will to live. Every tail wag, every playful bark, is her way of saying thank you to those who believed she was worth saving.
If Fuffy’s fight has touched your heart, share her story.
Let the world see that even in the darkest moments, there’s hope, there’s love, and there’s always a reason to keep fighting.
