A Glimpse That Changed Everything
It all began with a drive.
A woman passing by caught a glimpse of something moving near a roadside pipe. She turned back. What she found broke her heart.
A fragile puppy barked bravely at her, half hiding behind a pipe.
And nearby, his mother watched—terrified, protective, starving.
That mother dog didn’t run far.
She stayed close, torn between fear and the instinct to protect her child.
The woman knelt, speaking softly, offering food. Slowly, carefully, the mother inched forward.

From Fear to Trust
Once she realized there was no danger, the mother dog—later named Huanhuan—ate with desperation.
Her puppy didn’t eat. He was still nursing. So the woman handed Huanhuan her own breakfast, pouring goat’s milk from her bag and feeding her warm egg by hand.
That night, the woman made a decision:
They were coming home.
She found a leash in her car, carried the puppy gently in a bag, and took them to her workplace for the day.

The Beginning of a New Life
After their vet check confirmed both mom and pup were healthy, she gave them their first bath.
They were quiet, gentle, and so trusting.
She named the mother Huanhuan, which means “Joy.”

From fish soup to warm beds, Huanhuan finally felt safe.
She loved her pup fiercely, always letting him eat first, always watching over him.

A few days later, something remarkable happened.
Huanhuan adopted two abandoned kittens.
Though one tragically passed, her love never wavered.
But it was Dabai—a lively rescue pup—who helped her heal.
Dabai adored Huanhuan, and together with her son, they became a family of three.
For the first time in her life, Huanhuan played.
From Roadside Tunnel to a Backyard Palace
The days turned to weeks.
The rescuer took them back to the tunnel where they were first found, just to check if any other puppies remained.
But Huanhuan showed no signs of sadness.
She had moved on.
And her home moved too.
To give the dogs a better life, the rescuer renovated a countryside courtyard.
Now, they roam free. They nap in the sun. They eat hot pot.
Yes, hot pot—washed veggies and meat, shared with love.
Every single day, they smile more.
Every single day, Huanhuan grows happier.
