On a hot sunny day, when no one was outside because of the excruciating heat, there was a pungent smell and a faint noise coming from a dumpster.
An almost inaudible bark, almost like a plea, “Please save me.”
When a person went to see who’s making such faint noises, they landed on a horrific visual.
A dog so weak, so feeble, his body almost about to break was tied to a dumpster.
He was emaciated, had no fur, couldn’t even walk and looked like he had been neglected for months.
His body was trembling with weakness, but his eyes, they still wanted to live.
They wanted to be given one more chance at life.
And so his journey to rescue began.

Abandoned to die in excruciating heat
No one knows when he was abandoned and for how long has been like this.
Days? Weeks? Months? How long has he been like this?
That remains a mystery.
It didn’t matter. What mattered was that someone had abandoned him to die alone in the heat.
That’s when one of the rescuers, a woman whose face was etched with heartbreak, dropped to her knees beside him. Her hands shook as she untied the rope.
She gathered his fragile body into her arms, holding him as though he might shatter. Weber just stared at her, his disbelief as clear as the ribs beneath his skin.
“You’re safe now,” she whispered.

He was hungry, but not just for food
